ATK Groundbreaking

ATK Space Systems Inc., based in Edina, Minnesota, has announced an addition to its Miami Valley Research Park campus that will add 40,000 square feet and 60 jobs in the first three years.

The new 125,000 square foot building will be located on Technology Court in Beavercreek.  It will house research, development and manufacturing operations for antennas, radomes and RF components which are used by the United States Army, Air Force and Navy. The expected completion date of the new facility is April 2009.

Bruce Pearson, President and CEO of the Research Park, expressed the Park's excitement with ATK's announcement, "ATK and its predecessor company, Mission Research, has been a Research Park resident for the past 19 years. Their continued growth reflects a well-run company that meets or exceeds their customers expectations. In a similar manner the Park has been able to provide space and resources to accommodate the ATK requirements. This most recent expansion clearly demonstrates the viability of the Park's mission and geographic location."

ATK is a premier aerospace and defense company with more than 17,000 employees in 21 states and over $4.1 billion in annual revenue.  ATK first located in the Research Park in 1989, with a 16,000 square foot facility and 20 employees.  With this new facility, ATK will occupy over 140,000 square feet and have nearly 200 employees.

Dayton based Miller-Valentine Group will construct and own the building, leasing it to ATK.
